As one who loves the challenge, solving most Rubic cubes.... I was looking for something different. My father had one similar to this when I was a small child. Saw this and liked what I read in reviews. It is a very good puzzle and will get you frustrated at times. On my first try - Carefully taking it apart, watching every part as it came out - took 1/2 hour to put back together. 6 times later - it is much simpler.
This is a good quality puzzle, rating it 7 of 10 for difficulty. It looks awesome and when you take it apart in front of people and put it together is 3 minutes, they have an entirely new opinion of ya. As for the how the pieces fit, some reviews did not like it, I on the other hand feel it is just about right.

This is SO MUCH fun. ok. I had fun just trying to figure out how to get it apart. Then putting it back together was challenging and fun. seriously. I love these sort of 3D puzzles. like those chains you have to twist a special way. This is way better. It is about the size of a baseball. It is well made. Well sealed so you wont get a splinter The pieces fit in place perfectly. And when it is together it doesnt fall apart so it stays together. This is great to keep at my desk at work.

Personally I preferred the set of metal wire brain teasers because they are tricky with only 2 pieces per puzzle. This toy was fun enough.

Fun little puzzle to keep ya busy for a good five or ten minutes, there are 12 wood pieces when disassembled and when putting together it would of been nicer if the pieces were a little tighter fit, but other than that it is a buy for those who like puzzles.

I've had this 3/4 taken apart so far, and then put back together. There are quite a few pieces, and if you take it all apart right away, I doubt you'd be able to get it back in one piece easily, like humpty dumpty. I've been taking it apart more and more each time, laying the pieces out in the order removed. You have to slide the pieces to get them into the correct position. This is a challenging puzzle. Mine did NOT come with any type of solution or diagram to put it back together from scratch.
