Out of the box this cube is very good. It looks cool, it's fun to solve, looks interesting when scrambled, and turns very well. The turning on the cube is very good and coroner-cuts pretty nice. After I took it apart and lubricated it with silicone oil, the cube only got better. This cube is exactly the same as solving a standard 3x3 cube, but instead of colors, you use the shape and size of the pieces.

This left me very satisfied with my purchase. It is a fun intermediate Rubik's cube challenge that is difficult, but not so much so that it is unable to be mastered very quickly by someone who already know how to solve a 3x3 Rubik's cube.

I am very surprised at the quality of this cube. It is head and shoulders above most of the cubes I've purchased, while costing a fraction of the price. It is a very unique design too. Instead of adding different colors on each side of the cube, you have different sized cubes on each plane of the cube. The action is very smooth. It feels like it is been made very well. It looks very good too. I wish all of the cubes for this quality. I would highly recommend this, and as I said it is a very good bargain at this price.

Turns easily, sleek design, and so much harder to cheat in solving it than a regular cube. Tip for returning it to its original shape if you don't know how to solve it and get frustrated easily--there are online cheat sites to tell you how to solve a regular cube. Treat each depth/shape like a color. I usually start with the thinnest parts to solve one side, then use the Rubik's cheat to figure out the rest based on some guessing and some shape measurement. I'm not yet good at solving it the legit way. However, it's fun to use in waiting rooms. It's a good conversation piece. Way better than a book or iPad because it sparks curiosity. I tend to go about 3-5 moves in, then work backwards to get it back to a cube. People act so impressed when it looks like I solved it because the shapes make it look so complicated. LOL. Maybe someday it'll feel easier to solve. Great cube.

This is a well-made variation of a Rubik's Cube. It is, however, much more difficult to solve, and I've yet to solve this one myself.
There are two additional challenges with this cube: 1) all the surfaces are the same silver color, which means 2) you have to be familiar with the shapes on all the sides when you get this, as no sides are the same—even though they look similar; the shapes of the sides are your color reference.
The silver parts are made of quality stickers that look like they will withstand wear and tear. I took a star off because the movement of the cube could be smoother. I have a lot of Rubik's Cubes in my home so I have an idea of what makes a "good" cube. If anything, the motion from one movement to another is good enough for most cubes, as this one is.
This can be a fun Rubik's Cube if you can solve it. Recommended.

We paid very little for this, so I was not expecting much. It is surprisingly very nice! My son is really enjoying the challenge that this block brings. With all the pieces being different shapes & sizes it takes a while to get used to. He had already mastered the traditional 3x3 when we purchased this one for him. It took him a week or so to really be able to figure this one out. It is essentially solved in the same way as the traditional 3x3, but it is deceiving due to the different sided pieces. He really likes it & it has been a fun addition to his Rubik's collection.

Embarrassingly so, I saw a guy playing with one of these on the MTV reality show, 'Are You the One'. Towards the end of each episode, they air a random, short, often funny clip/outtake during commercials. The guy was struggling to put this cube back together, his friend was saying, dude, you're never going to get it. It flashed forward to the guy finally succeeding hours later; he ran out, and jumped in his friend's arms, while they were cheering with excitement. Long story short, it was hilarious! I was happy to find the cube online, not knowing the name of the product, etc. This particular cube has a nice look and feel to it, and is challenging enough. It's nice to get in the zone and focus solely on solving it. I think it'd make a great gift/stocking stuffer, etc.

This cube is all sorts of bananas. It's not super hard to solve, but the process is nothing like a 3x3 and it looks super nutty while you're in the process. Mix it up and leave it on your coffee table, or your desk at work or whatever and watch peoples brains melt as they try and figure out how it works the way it does.

I love this cube so much. I have a collection of different rubiks cubes and I have students who can solve most of the variations. This is one of my favorites. My students call it the shape shifter cube. I love it because you can solve it with the same algorithm as the standard cube, but instead of looking at color you look at the sizes of the pieces. The only problem is that the cube I received is a bit creaky when you turn it certain ways. It sounds as if it is falling apart, but it works fine.

This cube is a real mind bender. It is particularly fun to show to friends and family -- the first time they see it, the offsetting pieces really blow their mind.

Great cube for its price. A very challenging cube for people who want to take it a step past the 3x3. Its very smooth and fast for its shape. stickers don't peel and it looks great as a decorative item as well as a cube. A very good solid cube for its price. I would recommend for any cuber looking for a little more of a challenge.

The puzzle came quickly and was in good condition. It's a pretty hard puzzle in my opinion, but that's what I was expecting. I don't have any complaints about it, it's what it says it is. Maybe a little smaller than expected, but not enough to be a problem.

This is a cool shape mod. It's basically a standard 3x3 but each cutie has it's own distinct shape that determines when the piece goes rather than colors. As for turning, out of the box, it was covered in stock lube. It was very smooth but the stock lube causes it to be sluggish. The cube does't overshoot and is stable. The sticker quality is perfect- haven't had one chip.

It took me a while to figure out the patterns to solve it, but once I managed that, it became really easy to solve, plus!! After a while, the cube was much smoother in it's turning. I recommend for sure!

This puzzle is very intimidating when it is mixed up, and it takes a while for your mind to visualize it as a 3x3 cube. Although it can be solved using standard 3x3 algorithms, it can be challenging to get the pieces (shapes) placed and oriented correctly (I printed a picture of the solved cube to use as a reference during my first couple of solves)..
The quality of this cube is excellent. It turns very smoothly and there is no fear if it popping (it even allows for a little bit of corner cutting). It is solid, and has survived several drops with flying colors. You won't be disappointed by this product.

This puzzle is a lot of fun to solve. It takes some thinking at first, but once you get familiar with it it's not too difficult. I'm no 3x3 speed solver by the way. It takes me just over a minute to solve a normal 3x3. I can solve this mirror cube in 3 to 4 minutes. It turns very smoothly and right out of the box was lubricated nicely.
Andrei B.
I use the original Rubik's cube the way some people use stress relievers. If you know the algorithm and can solve an original with no problem, this cube will pose just a touch more challenge using shapes instead of colors. The product itself is well made for such a cheap price and you'll love it. My wife leaves ours unsolved and displays it on the bookshelf as it has a great architectural feel.
May B.
A fun little puzzle. Even though I can solve the 3x3, it took me a few minutes to solve this cube simply because of how you have to be able to visualize the cube with the complex shapes.
Tatiana F.
kids love it and play with it alot
Jack N.
this is the most amazing looking cube when it is all scrambled up... it is very intimidating, but its no different than a regular 3x3
Park P.
I really like this cube. Not only is it a fun puzzle, it turns very well. It is difficult at first.
Shannon G.
My 9 yr old finally solved this! He actually stuck colored stickers on each side to make it easier to solve. When it's all the same color, it's REALLY challenging. We like how "different" this one is! It looks so "weird" when it's mixed up or being solved. LOL
Hannah G.
Great to exercise the brains, my son love it
Alan S.
Very fun, and my friends always laugh and fiddle with it. Luckily I have a friend that knows how to solve it, otherwise it would never be in cube shape ever again!
Michael M.
Turns incredibly smoothly and is a super fun challenge to those who already know how to solve a 3x3. You just have to learn one additional algorithm to orient the center pieces as there are distinct horizontal or vertical lines (a brushed aluminum look) to the sides.

I bought cube for my son. Here is his review:
Really cool and fun cube if you like challenging yourself. If you know how to solve a 3x3 you will have no problem, but you will have to use beginners method. It is impossible to solve with advanced. To me its a really challenging cube cause you have to work with shapes instead of colors. In my school I solve it the fastest because people say its really hard but not for me, so I say buy it!

My brother is a cuber. Great add to anyone's collection.
Maria D.
My son really enjoyed this!!! We'll definitely start our own collection.

I Have been cubing for quite awhile now, and I know that some mature cubers are afraid to order cubes from non-cubing websites. But this cube came a day early, and it is an amazing puzzle! It is a 3x3 shape modification, so if you are worried that you wont be able to solve it (for you new cubers out there) then worry no more because if you can solve a normal Rubik's cube, then you can solve this puzzle! The turning quality is maybe the smoothest out of any twisty puzzle that I have tried! GET THIS PUZZLE!
Wesley P.
Turns great and is a fun and interesting challenge, if you know how to solve a 3 by 3, and you're good at logistical thinking then this puzzle should take you around 3-5 minutes
Angie R.
If you know how to solve a regaular Rubik's cube well, then you can solve this. It is tricky at first... make sure you study the cube well before first messing it up. The trickiest part is that all the center pieces are the same. It usually takes me about 3 or 4 minutes to solve it for me, when my average regular Rubik's cube is about a minute. It turns better than a normal Rubik's (not a speed cube)... it surprisingly turns well. It gets stuck sometimes, but only because the sizes are all different and its hard to exactly line everything up. Overall a very good buy and very enjoyable toy.
Blake Y.
The cube looks and feels pretty good. The stickers are also really nice and resilient. The cube turns very well and smoothly, but you must complete the turn almost all the way otherwise it will lock up. It's very interesting and also something fun to mess around with in your spare time.
Joyce O.
This cube is awesome. It is a little more challenging than a normal 3x3 but if you can solve a 3x3 you can solve this no problem. It always throws people off when they see it and they are amazed when you solve it. When it's scrambled it looks like a jumbled mess. Overall I have nothing to complain about.
Lucy J.
A lot harder to get used to then the original 3x3 with the colors. Turns great, not really good corner cutting though. But that's ok because I don't speedcube much. Don't drop it though because it seems fragile. Lots of fun though and totally worth the price! Took a really long time to get to my house though.
Jay W.
However, my cube showed up early, it turns buttery smooth, corner cuts like nobody's business, and the stickers are stuck in place. I love this cube.
Gayle B.
By far one of the greatest 3x3x3. As everyone said before, the turning is excellent. I love the confusing look it has when it's mixed up, it looks crazy. Everyone that has seen it, keeps saying "that looks impossible" "how can you do that" when it's the exact same as a 3x3 but instead of colors, it's shapes. If you know how to solve a 3x3 definitely get this, and impress everyone.
Bryan E.
I've been cubing for 2 months now and I decided I would finally get into the more irregular puzzles, and I can't tell you how pleased I am that I purchased this puzzle. It adds an entirely new level of challenge to the 3x3x3 cube, without being insanely difficult. If you know how to solve a 3x3x3, you can solve this puzzle.
Gina D.
A bit smaller than what I expected but that's my fault for not really paying attention to dimensions. The product is very cool and a different take on the reubix cube. Product seemed well made and we'll packaged also.
Kaycee J.
Gift for an 11 year old, who is having a blast with it. Just as described, no problems.
Sue M.
It's pretty cool to look at it after it's been messed up. The problem is that my son can't put it back the right way. I wish it came with the solution. It's mainly used to make awesome looking structure.
Melinda K.
I am a big fan of this cube. It is solved the same way as a normal 3x3, but it is way harder to wrap your head around. It has taught me a few things about solving the normal 3x3 in that i am forming new ways to think about certain issues tahat I face. 4 stars because the stickers are a bit thin and it locks up a bit.
Ashley W.
This cube turned well for a mirror cube. It feels smooth and nice. I would recommend the seller and cube.

Super smooth and easy to change the tensions

excellent quality puzzle for an amazing price!
