This is a fun project for the kids. Though the planets are extremely tiny, the Sun is about the size of a ping-pong ball. the set is very cute when completed. The paint quality is good as it covers the plastic on the planets. Instructions are clear and planets are labeled by name.

This is awesome. Basically using art to learn about the order of planets from the sun. I'm not sure who likes this more - my 7 year old or me - we both learned a lot! Definitely requires parental help the entire time for painting and assembly, but it's not difficult. The plastic planets are a little tough to snap together.

As an auntie to three little girls I always send fun and science related gifts. Get them interested in science while their little brains are still like sponges. I sent this model along with the "The Moon Seems to Change" book. Can't wait to see what they do with it!

Small but great if you don't have space for a big permanent one. My daughter is 7 and really enjoyed painting and assembling this together. The plastic sphere halfs need to be snapped together which I found was hardest for her. If we had to do it again I would make sure I broke each one out of their holders one planet at a time. The reason is that some planets are the same size and the labeling is just one really small character printed on the inside of the shape. So, I just had to find, read and snap them together. She did all the painting and was able to read the gray arms that they sit on. They don't snap on so they can come off easily but so far we haven't lost a planet or the sun. My daughter has learned well with it and it was fun for her to do. Would recommend to others as a home learning device.

I put this together with my 4 year old son today. It was really easy to do and he enjoyed seeing it all come together. The paint washed right off of our clothes and the table. I would recommend adult supervision for younger kids as there are many small parts. Everything was clearly labeled. Good first model kit.
