We had a great time with this kit, and apart from the limited quantity of plaster it is good quality and well made. That would be a fun thing to do with kids, there are several skills involved in building and painting the volcanoes, and making them erupt.
Highly recommended.
CLARENCE K.
This was really cool to do with my kids. They loved watching it erupt after we molded it and colored it.

My four year old has a fascination with volcanoes so this kit was wonderful. Due to her age, I helped mix the plaster and filled the mold. Once it dried she had lots of fun painting it and making the volcano erupt. I definitely recommend for younger ages provided there is parent to help with the assembly. We loved that we could reuse the volcano too.

Mt four year daughter and I had a blast making this. She loved pouring the plaster into the mold and painting it the next day. This set also includes cardboard cutouts of houses and running people for the "lava" to run over.

This is a great volcano model. I have been searching for one for years for my son, and this is perfect. You build the volcano and paint it, then make it erupt over and over again. This is a great toy and well worth the money!
JOHNNY W.
I bought this for my grandchildren who are being homeschooled. They are 6 and 9. It was easy to make and is reusable. It was a great addition the their earth science studies.
EARL B.
Great gift idea, especially for boys. This is my go to gift when my 5 year old attends birthday parties as it is the perfect price, fun and unique. Lot's of kids get toys but this is an experience.
JIMMY R.
My son LOVES this he is 6

We really enjoyed this project. The plaster was very smooth - almost rubbery (which was nice!) It was fun and easy to make and worked well. A very nice kit. I highly recommend it.
JOHN H.
great science experiment! my 6 year old loved it
ROBERT D.
My five year old cousin loved it! Would buy again.

My kid has wanted to make a volcano forever, and this was a great opportunity for him to do so without a ton of work. Both my boys loved it. Worked great.
WILLIAM R.
We purchased this volcano for my 3rd grade son to use as a project for a book report. It was perfect and it wowed his classmates! It was very easy to make the volcano and he really enjoyed painting it when it was set. Of course the most fun was the actual erupting volcano. We had no trouble at all. It worked perfectly every time and he did it all by himself at school. If you need a large volcano, this is not the one for you. However, it was just the right size for our project. The price was terrific as well!
DAVID A.
My entire family loves this. We have made a couple volcanoes from the mold, and it doesn't show any wear or use. Definitely worth the money!

I bought this for my Grandson for Christmas so I love it and think he will to

I have a complete blast with my son making this. I would say that there is only a small amount of paintbut it is more than enough to paint the volcano. We wanted to build an island for the volcano to be on so since we have a lot of paint at my house so we were able to decorate it all. It was a lot of fun!
THOMAS S.
I bought this as a gift for my nephew and he had a lot of fun with it. The volcano is smaller than I expected, but it was very nice. The paints made it look very nice and realistic.
CHRISTOPHER B.
Daughter got this for Christmas and she loves it!
DANIEL W.
I bought this kit for my son as a 6th birthday gift. He loved making the volcano mold and painting it, and of course making the eruption! It's fun, but also educational... PERFECT!

She had the best volcano project in class. The insert is like a pill bottle in shape and size and the mold is reusable but the little insert chamber is not. I think that using a standard prescription bottle in place of the included insert would work. Be careful to NOT move it once you have put the plaster in, the included plaster does not come to the top of the mold but you can carefully smooth it away from the middle and up the sides to make it taller. Plaster gets hot as it sets. This is a normal thing. You can buy more plaster of Paris at hobby stores if you want to make more volcanoes. Paints included work great and look good when the 12 year old used them. USE THE RUBBER BANDS to hold the mold together! She put the baking soda in a thin 1 ply of tissue first then dropped it in the vinegar. Tissue dissolves and foam comes out. Test it at home to be able to understand what ply tissue and how much baking soda and vinegar for desired effect. We added red food coloring to vinegar to make foam more lava like. Mostly it was fun and the volcano was not too heavy or cumbersome to carry by herself.

My 4 year old loved this. He loves projects and helped make the volcano and paint it. In fact we made two, one for his pre-K classroom. He also painted it (with help). The kit allows you to make pretty much as many volcanos as you'd like if you supply your own plaster and paint. The mold is easy to construct and durable.
We've made many, many volcanic eruptions with viegar and baking soda and it paved the way to other science kits. I highly recommend this kit.
STEVEN S.
I bought this kit for my volcano-crazy 4 year old. It was easy to put together and he loves it! We've played with it every day since it has dried. I love that you can re-use the mold and the volcano itself. All this use has started to take off the paint but it leaves the plaster beneath the paint discolored in a way that looks like rock so that isn't a problem. Just add vinegar, baking soda and red food coloring and watch it go!
EDWARD M.
I really liked the volcano and how easy it is to be made... I also liked the color tips for painting... but I thought it would be better if it was a bit bigger... it would be better for the kids to visualize the volcano erupting...
BRIAN R.
My grandson loves experimenting. He has wanted to make a volcano for a while. He loves this kiy
RONALD R.
I ordered this kit to add something special to mixing vinegar and baking soda for my preschool classroom. the mold set quickly and was ready to paint less then 30 minutes later. The mold is also reusable so I can make another using plaster of paris. This got a great reaction from my kids!

This volcano was a fun activity for my stepdaughter and I, although it was hard for her to be patient enough to wait for the plaster to harden and the paint to dry. She did enjoy painting the volcano different colors and we still have a fair bit of paint left over that she now uses for other crafts. At first we put a teaspoonful of baking soda followed by a teaspoonful of vinegar and this gave us was a really lame explosion, but I had her continue adding vinegar and a little more baking soda and pretty soon we had a large eruption that greatly excited her. We put red and orange food coloring like the directions suggested and it was a great addition.
KEVIN M.
I love this project and my son had fun creating the model volcano and watching it explode. It resembles an actual volcano and it's better than using a soda bottle
JASON B.
nice christmas gift for my daughter who loves volcanos
MATTHEW M.
A great activity with my grandchild. We loved it.
GARY B.
My grandson is very interested in space and science. I bought this for Christmas. Daddy and Son had a great time working on it together and he said it really worked...lol
TIMOTHY R.
I had so much fun making this with my son. The only problem we encountered was a need for more paint when the vinegar and baking soda started to eat the paint off of the mold.
JOSE C.
Fun for the kids, they really enjoyed it. No explosive or even very exciting lava flow, but they liked it anyway.
LARRY R.
Great project for my 6-year old. What's great is that you can do the experiment over and over again!
JEFFREY C.
Great gift for tweens

The entire family enjoyed working on this volcano together. We still have the volcano on display.

I took the opportunity to let my kids pick out their own presents this year for their birthday and it was the best decision I ever made.

I bought this for my daughter (4 years old) to give my husband for Christmas. She was a LITTLE disappointed that you couldn't make the volcano erupt on the first day, but it's all about managing expectations. It was great because it turned into a 10 minute per day project that lasted 3 days. (1st day - plaster, 2nd day - painting, 3rd day - eruption). Like another reviewer, we erupted on a baking sheet to contain the mess. We followed the directions for the initial eruption (1 tsp each of baking soda and vinegar), but it was so puny that we really upped the amounts for the second one. We also added food coloring to the baking soda and mixed it up, so that it looked like lava. OH! And my MIL is a teacher and suggested adding a couple of drops of dawn to the baking soda before adding vinegar. We did that, too, and it made it really frothy.
JERRY B.
Our two grandsons poured two gallons of vinegar onto the baking soda. This entertained them for at least an hour. Each time the baking soda bubbled and fizzed, they were delighted.

My child needed to make a volcano for school and this product was a big help to her and got her an A+ and I like this product.

5 year old grandson loved it

Grand son got a A on his project.
PETER B.
My kids really liked this, it really wasn't a long project but it was cheap enough that I think it was a good price to value. There are 3 steps really. 1) Making the volcano which took use less than 30 minutes. Then you have to wait for it to cure. 2) Painting the volcano after it's cured. This took us maybe 15 minutes. 3) Errupting the volcano! sadly this is this shortest part and is maybe 5 minutes of prep and 20 seconds of action. I reccomend putting it on a pizza pan for super easy cleanup. None the less my kids really enjoyed it which is why I'm rating it 5 stars. It was all actually very easy, wasn't too messy (I'm normally a guy that doesn't like 'messy' projects) and you can errupt it as many times as you want once it's completed.
HAROLD W.
Granddaughter got an A+ on project for her school science class. It was easy to make and not a lot of mess.
DOUGLAS B.
My son received this in his stocking and is so excited to try it, I can not really rate how it works but I will be sure to let you know
